Construction Skills Bootcamp Overview

Students at NAHA are provided education in many aspects of the homebuilding industry, such as safety, basic hand and power tools, etc. Participants will spend the final portion of the course focusing on basic skills and competency needed for a specific trade of their choice. NAHA currently offers specializations in Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, and Plumbing.

Schedule Options

Standard Evening Bootcamp ​​​​​​​​​​​

8 Week Program
Tuesday & Thursday

5:30-8:30 pm​​​​​​​​​

Afternoon Accelerated Bootcamp ​​​​​​​​​​​

4 Week Program

Monday-Thursday

2:00-5:00 pm​​​​​​​​​​

Students are required to attend classes each week and complete online coursework outside of class hours. All Construction Bootcamps include skills training in hand and power tools, safety, construction math, print reading, hands-on experience building projects, career and resume preparation. and focused training in carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.

Our program is FREE to anyone pursuing a career in construction in north Alabama. We also provide all of the tools and equipment needed to complete the course.

COURSE CONTENT

Construction Math & BLUEPRINT READING

Learn commonly used math formulas necessary for construction, as well as learn and demonstrate competency in blueprint reading. Projects in our training lab combine both of these skills.

Basic Safety

Learn proper safety procedures needed to work on a professional job site. Participants can earn a 6-hour HBAA Safety 6 worksite safety certification.

Hand Tools

Learn identification and demonstrate competency in using a variety of hand and power tools commonly used in the homebuilding industry such as speed square, chalk line, power saws, and pneumatic nailers.

Power Saws

Learn proper safety procedures needed to work on a professional job site. Participants can earn a 6-hour HBAA Safety 6 worksite safety certification.
